Introducing MB&F LM Split Escapement EVO

As we begin 2023, we are excited to showcase MB&F which released a pair of enticing new colorways in the LM Split Escapement series. There is one thing constant throughout this legacy machine collection; functions. Although complications vary, but the suspended balance wheel remains literally and metaphorically above everything else.

Case Material: 4 launch editions in 18k white gold and 1 limited edition in titanium

Dimensions: 44x17.5 mm

Engine: Movement developed by MB&F by Stephen McDonnell

Winding: Manual winding with double mainspring barrels

Power Reserve: 72 hours

The fifth generation of MB&F's legacy machine series can be considered a bit of a back-to-basics moment for the inventive and eccentric Swiss watch company. When it was first released in 2017, this luxury watches UAE was the fifth iteration of the legacy machine concept. In the latest collection, it added two new color variants featuring an attractive ‘sky blue’ dial and ‘slate grey subdials’, and the second one with a ‘black based dial’ and ‘dark blue sub-dials'. The latest collection features hours and minutes, power reserve, and date split across the three raised sub-dials. We don’t mean that it’s any less complicated a creation but it’s all about the unique approach to the escapement.

You might wonder what strange horological devil magic allows this timepiece to work. However, the secret lies hidden in its name- the “split”. The balance is the star of the show and the rest of the necessary escapement parts are positioned underneath the dial.

Both the new LM Split Escapement EVO models have grade 5 titanium cases with feature screw-down crowns to ensure 80m water resistance. The particularities of this bezel-free design permit the fusion of domed sapphire crystal directly into the case. The 298-part movement is suspended inside the case with a monobloc part movement to provide extra resistance to shocks.
